Several high-rise buildings in Olympic Park are currently undergoing major remedial works, requiring intricate planning and precise execution to ensure full compliance with the Design and Building Practitioners Act. These works are being carried out across fully occupied apartments, necessitating careful coordination to minimise disruption for residents.
The primary focus of the remediation efforts includes critical areas such as internal bathrooms, balconies, and structural elements. A key aspect of the scope involves the remediation of landscape planter boxes to address and repair significant leaks. This will include detailed substrate preparation and the reapplication of a new PVC sheet membrane, ensuring the long-term integrity of the waterproofing and protecting the building from further water damage.
The project also includes the installation of scaffolding to facilitate the remediation of non-compliant façade cladding and new window suites. Additionally, extensive crack correction works will be undertaken on the basement structures, which involve repairing control joints, crack injections, and enhancing the fire rating of service penetrations to comply with standards.
